Creating a basic roof in 3D Roof tool
When creating your project, select the "3D" option. This will allow you to create and view the building in our 3D viewer. You'll be able to take into account nearby buildings or trees that may cast shade on the roofs you're working on, and this will make your project give more accurate calculations.
Our 3D editor is a "drag and drop" system. In the left-hand panel you'll see an array of roofs, extensions, and obstructions. There are a variety of pre-made common roof shapes, but you can also use an "irregular building" if needed which you'll find in the miscellaneous section. Obstructions such as chimneys, roof lights, and vent can also be found in that section. If at any point you're unsure what an icon is, you can hover over it with your cursor to see a tooltip describing what the element is.
Click and hold on the roof type that you need, and drag it over to the map image. Release the mouse to drop it into place. Then, you can use the rectangular handles on the edges of the roof to resize it as needed, and you can use the yellow circular handle to rotate it as needed. It should appear in the "elevations view" section in the bottom right hand corner of the page, where you can easily adjust the ridge height and gutter height using the sliders, or by clicking directly on the values and entering a new measurement.
